Press Release - "Drawings and Pictures and Time" by Jordy Kerwick

pt. 2 Gallery is pleased to present Drawings and Pictures and Time, a solo exhibition of new paintings and works on paper by the France-based Australian artist Jordy Kerwick. Concentrated on Kerwick’s small-format drawings, the exhibition depicts Kerwick’s vast imagination and evolving subject matter. Created during the ever-lengthening Covid-19 pandemic, these drawings lay the groundwork for Kerwick’s latest paintings, depicting a new lexicon of animal busts, the human form in varying poses, and mythical, and imagined entities.

We want to thank everyone who made it out this past Saturday for the opening reception of "Coffee For Eight" a group exhibition now on view at pt.2: features the works of Cannon Dill, Hilary Pecis, Hiroya Kurata, Jordan Kerwick, Kellen Chasuk, Maryam Yousif, Nick Makanna, and Sarah Thibault. Part 2 Gallery is proud to present Coffee For Eight, a group exhibition opening June 9th at 12pm in Downtown Oakland. Coffee For Eight will feature to works of local artists Cannon Dill, Kellen Chasuk, Maryam Yousif, Nick Makanna and Sarah Thibault, alongside Los Angeles’ Hilary Pecis Australia’s Jordan Kerwick, and New York-based Hiroya Kurata.
